Travel
guide: Romantic bliss in St. Lucia
Let your heart be light on this Caribbean island
in the sun.
By Jennifer Weatherhead |
|
A
romantic stay at the Coco Palm:
With an amazing location in Rodney Bay Village
(close to just about everything!), the Coco
Palm Resort is an ideal getaway for the romantic
couple. The cozy hotel designed to remind us
of the French-Caribbean influence and plantation
history in St. Lucia is a short drive away from
a pristine beach, Pigeon Island, and Castries.
The laid back atmosphere from the staff will
ensure you will have tons of privacy, or they
can help you arrange a romantic St. Lucia rendezvous.
The swim-up pool to your room isn't so bad either! |

JAMAICA TO SUPPORT WOMEN'S SEMINAR IN ST. LUCIA
|
|
NEW
YORK (April 12, 2006) – Air
Jamaica has confirmed its support for a groundbreaking
women's seminar on St. Lucia as the Caribbean creole
destination and the regional carrier tap the emerging
faith tourism market.
Kaye Chong, one of Air
Jamaica's managers of Community and Special Market
Sales, said Air Jamaica was pleased to support the
"The Walk: Sanctuary for the Soul" seminar,
slated for June 8 to 11 at Coco Resorts in Rodney
Bay. "The faith tourism market is an untapped
market and the church community is still unaware of
the full advantages of having these kinds of seminars
in the Caribbean," said Chong.
The seminar, designed
for women of faith, excellence and integrity, is being
produced by award-winning journalist, author and Christian
broadcaster Andria Hall, President of SpeakEasy M.E.D.I.A.
"Having seminars in the Caribbean is refreshing
to both the soul and the spirit, and it also provides
an opportunity for the church community to fellowship
with the saints in the Caribbean and expand their
respective ministries," said Chong, who previously
appeared on Hall's popular radio broadcast, The Walk
at Work, on WMCA radio in the tri-state area of New
York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The conference is expected
to attract participants from the US, St. Lucia and
the wider Caribbean who will benefit from powerful
guest speakers, interactive sessions and 'Biblical
Aromatherapy' as registrants sample essential oils
which were used in Biblical times. "We commend
Air Jamaica for their vision and foresight to support
this seminar, and more importantly, for understanding
the potential of the faith tourism market –
a market that is pleased to patrionise destinations
that cater to their faith sensitivities," noted
Hall, who said a major highlight of the conference
will be a gospel concert featuring a sensational group
from the New York area.
Hall will be in St. Lucia next week to finalise plans
for the June seminar, and conduct interviews for her
weekly radio show. For further information about June's
seminar, visit www.thewalkatwork.com

October 2005
Allen Chastanet sees a great future for what he terms
village tourism, where guest are encouraged to go out
and meet the local people "i have a very different product
here. Guest Will not be inconvenienced in my hotel as
i have learned enough to avoid basic mistakes.
Coco Palm's architectural design is French Creole with
an exterior pain scheme of Caribbean colours "because
i did not want it to look like a big block of impersonal
rooms". I also want our guests to enjoy an authentic
St Lucian vacation, to meet the people and enjoy the
culture of the island.
The design of the hotel reflects both the English and
French Creole cultures and i see this as more an intimate
house rather than a hotel. I like to give our guest
an opportunity to meet and interact with the local people".
